About Koby
I am a licensed clinical social worker with more than four years of professional experience supporting individuals across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and life circumstances. My practice experience includes hospital-based case management, inpatient psychiatric care, and community mental health. I currently work supporting active-duty soldiers and their mental health, an experience that has further strengthened my commitment to meeting people with compassion, respect, and an appreciation for the unique experiences they bring to the therapeutic relationship.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adults, and older adults, allowing me to develop a broad perspective on the ways people navigate change, adversity, relationships, and personal growth. I approach my work from a client-centered perspective, grounded in the belief that people possess inherent strengths and the capacity for growth and healing when provided with the right support, safety, and space to explore their experiences.
I am originally from a small town in west-central Illinois and spent many years in Missouri, where I completed my education and began my professional career. I now live in El Paso, Texas, with my spouse, who is completing medical residency. My experiences living in different communities and working with people from diverse backgrounds have deepened my appreciation for the many ways culture, community, relationships, and environment shape our lives.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures. I am continually inspired by what the world—and the people within it—can teach us. This spirit of curiosity and wonder also informs my approach to social work: remaining open, asking meaningful questions, and honoring each person's story rather than assuming there is a single path toward healing or growth.
I believe therapy and supervision are collaborative processes. My role is not to tell you who you should be, but to walk alongside you as you develop greater understanding, recognize your strengths, navigate challenges, and determine what meaningful growth looks like for you.
